Description
The origin of the name comes from "mal" (bad) and "essart" (newly cleared land). 1514 Mal Eyssart. 1575 Malessart Malissard was originally an outlying district of Chabeuil, and remained so until the 19th century.
Originally, it was an outlying district of Chabeuil surrounded by poorly cleared forests, hence the name "mal" (bad) and "essart" (newly cleared place): MAL EYSSART then MALLESSART (1575) and finally MALISSARD since 1891.
