Description
What is the Bed in Shop concept? Well, it's a superb idea! The idea is to help revitalize city centers - in this case, Romans-sur-Isère - by renovating empty former stores and transforming them into unusual aparthotels. It also gets local youngsters involved by having them create some of the furniture in the gîtes, while another part is sourced from local re-use channels such as the Ressourcerie Verte, Emaüs or the Plateforme. And all for a great result! So don't hesitate!
Located in the heart of Romans' historic pedestrian district, Bed in Shop la "Chaumière" is a haven of unspoilt peace. The studio is housed in the former kitchens of a 13th-century building, opening onto a planted patio. With its imposing fireplace and ham drying rack, its authenticity will win you over. Close to the collegiate church of Saint Barnard and the Isère river, restaurants and social venues await you.
La Tannerie, our 4th BedinShop, uses the codes of previous BedinShops: part of the furniture was made by young people from the neighborhood (partnership with the Specialized Prevention Service of Romans). Another part comes from local recycling channels. The Shoe Museum graciously lends us objects from its collections on the theme of tannery and locals help us with certain aspects of the decoration. Sustainable tourism
La durabilité est une des valeurs du concept Bed in shop : nous recyclons, nous transformons, nous ré-utilisons. En d'autres termes, nos hébergements sont imaginés et conçus dans l'esprit de l'économie circulaire. Nous intégrons aussi les habitants dans notre démarche : une partie du mobilier est fabriquée par les jeunes du quartier dans des chantiers loisirs en partenariat avec les éducateurs de rue.
D’autre part, en tant que « membre 1% for the Planet », nous nous engageons à reverser 1% de notre chiffre d’affaires à des associations environnementales à but non lucratif.
