Description

Situated on the slopes of the Vercors mountains, the commune of Barbières is particularly noteworthy for its spectacular geographical location in the Barberolle gorge, dominated by the ruins of the Pellafol fortified castle. The village grew in the 19th century.

REMARKABLE SITES :
. Cluse de la Barberolle rising from the Montagne de l'Epervier (1326 m) and crossing a rocky ridge (600-700 m) at a place called le Pertuis.
. The village stands at the mouth of the cluse, overlooking the Barberolle ravine and dominated by the cliffs and ruins of Pellafol castle.

- PANORAMAS - VIEWPOINTS
. A small path running along the back of the houses above the ravine allows you to appreciate this landscape and gives access to the washhouse.
. The cemetery, off-center on the heights below the Château de Pellafol, offers an interesting view of the village, the Valence plain and the Massif Central ridge line.
