During this “JAM,” a selection of regional artists was invited to work together and freely express their artistic visions around a color theme set by the festival’s artistic direction.
This shared color palette, inspired by the mural’s immediate surroundings, helped create a cohesive mural that interacts with the surrounding architectural and natural elements.
The Graffiti JAM—or collective mural bringing together different artists—is a common practice in graffiti art culture. These collective murals are organized on vacant lots or in abandoned spaces that are authorized or tolerated for the practice of this art form, resulting in murals that cover large horizontal surfaces and blend figures, lettering, and scenery organized around a common theme, within which each artist finds the opportunity to express their individuality.
