Fresque de street art des Sobekcis - Walls & love

Twin brothers Ivan and Nikola, who make up the duo SOBEKCIS, have developed a unique approach by isolating and reinventing elements typically associated with graffiti.

These include brushstrokes, letterforms, and textures, set against opaque surfaces, thereby pushing the boundaries of urban art and abstract art.

The Work:
In keeping with our body of work, the idea for this mural was to create an abstract composition built from unconscious gestures, carefully arranged to reflect and respond to the surrounding environment. The shapes follow the lines, angles, and architectural structures of the city, creating a visual connection between the mural and its immediate surroundings, as well as a contrast with the older architecture that stands alongside it.
A minimalist black-and-white palette defines the abstract shapes, while vibrant colors highlight them and create a contrast with the architecture.

The Artists:
The Sobek and Kcis brothers, known as Sobekcis, were born in 1991 and live in Belgrade, Serbia. Both began creating graffiti around 2006–2007.
The dynamic that unites them as twin brothers is at the heart of their artistic approach; they describe themselves as operating in a state of duality, where each element of their work naturally finds its balance in a corresponding element, much like the principles of yin and yang.
