Sculpture "La Mère et l'Enfant" de Toros

This work appears in front of the Hôtel Départemental de la Drôme, because of its central theme: filiation. The mother and child, united by the pedestal that supports them, recall the importance of childhood for the sculptor.

Close, side by side, they are united by the same attitudes, reflected in the glass façade behind them. Their bodies are reduced to essentials, but leave no doubt as to their identity. Their faces look in the same direction. Created in a very sober patina, this work addresses a universal message to those who look at it: the protective role played by the mother towards her child, represented in smaller size and without any artifice, her head very slightly tilted towards the one who gave birth to her.
