Description

Ana Langeheldt is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Seville. Originally known as Lahe178, she is a pioneer of urban mural painting in Spain.

Her work gives pride of place to color, which lends great expressivity to the scenes she paints.
Rumbos, which means "directions" in Spanish, echoes the issues of migration and exile with which the artist is confronted, particularly in Andalusia, a land historically crossed by two continents. Ana Langeheld takes up this topical issue, lamenting the fact that her region, like the rest of Europe, is today less inclined to welcome foreigners. The work features a bust of a woman who seems to have the features of an Egyptian goddess. Surrounded by the waves and a small, light boat, the figure becomes an island, a shore, a land of welcome.
This project takes place near the Palais des Congrès et des Expositions de Valence, painted on a wall of the Arthur Magakian gymnasium, named in homage to this figure of French gymnastics, and located in a connecting zone between downtown Valence and the redeveloped Polygone district.
